On the Eastern coast of Yucatan Peninsula, there's a 100-mile strip of white sandy beaches that runs from Cancun to Tulum. Today this area is called the Mayan Riviera. Situated right in the middle of the Mayan Riviera is PLAYA DEL CARMEN, a fishing village which has turned into one of the most interesting spots along the Riviera with its provincial Mexican roots.
There are guest houses, small hotels, a collection of original boutiques, fine restaurants and great dividng facilities. Nearby you can visit the exotic birds sanctuary Xaman-Ha, play golf or take a ferry to Cozumel.
